How long time do you think it will take before modders realise, that the problem with wierd colours persists and quit modding for COD2?

I mean... We just got a flawed edior and compiler...

I don't understand why you are saying this. Many maps are already released without any colour problems. Be sure that you meet all the requirements need to use the Tools.

These requirements are:
- 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX® 9.0c compatible 64 MB Hardware Accelerator vi

Video card and the latest drivers
- Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP
- Pentium® 4 1.4GHz or AMD Athlon™ XP 1700+
- 256 MB RAM (512 MB RAM recommended)
- DirectX® 9.0c (not-included)
- 100% DirectX® 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card and latest drivers.
- 100% Windows® 2000/XP compatible mouse, keyboard and latest drivers
- 200MB of uncompressed free hard disk space

Important Note: *Some 3D accelerator cards with the chipset listed here may not be compatible with the 3D acceleration features utilized by Call of Duty® 2. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer for 100% DirectX® 9.0c compatibility.

This product does not support Microsoft® Windows® 95/98/ME or NT.

1- Ensure you have the latest ATI/VIDEO Drivers.

2- Ensure you have the latest DX9 Driver.

3- Ensure you have the latest .NET Framework.

Many have problems with the Tools but many others have NO problems with Mod Tools. This is only a compatibility question and drivers update issues.

Edit: Last thing. I see many screenshots sent by peoples having bugs. If you look closer at these screenshots, you'll see that they run many other programs in backgroung. These Tools need a lot of ressources from a computer. Try to avoid having backgroung programs rolling when you use CoD2Radiant.

hmm it looks like he didnt have a comp to check out the quality off cod 2...
The color problem like you say is or a video card problem like cap. says or you saw a map with a worldspawnsetting wrong...

just check out it the problem is not on yourself an then reply back..

radiant works great for me and my maps look great.....if i could just get this loadscreen stuff figured out. the color problem is a wrong worldspawn

Colour problem is due to a wrong worldspawn settings OR you need some models in your map. It'll go away when you add like 3 or 5 different models.

So that means I cant make large open fields and have to make claustrophobic maps with lots of crates in order to have decent models?

That’s a draw distance problem, CoD2, BF2 and Oblivion all have the same problem. The map I have now made has bank fog in the middle of if I look @ it from a far distance I don’t see it if I look @ it close up I see and the problem is if someone is near the fog, they see the fog but the enemy is far away does not see the fog but they can see you, though you cant see them blar blar, so I made the bank fog less dense = problem solved. It is down to the mapper on how efficient the map turns out/plays.
