Take an aspirin and go on,Montana. Everything has alearning curve, and if you're precise and keep an eye out for mistakes it's not that hard to make a decent looking level.

I've been diggin on Google for some Crytek Sandbox2 editor tutorials and the amount I found is amazing, hundreds of professional high quality videos with people talking in it in using the Sandbox 2 editor..

Radiant is pee-peeing me off aswell, so are the limitations, if you wan't to create a Star Wars mod in Crysis - YOU CAN, if you wan't to create an Oblivion-style mod in Crysis - YOU CAN. *

Hell, there's even a Jurassic Park (LOST WORLD) mod with supa-dupa large dinosaurs, completely textured and animated, no limitations whatsoever!

* this is no advertising [tongue]

Yes, the Crytek engine is very nice... but CoD doesn't use it, so what does it matter?

Learn to work with the limitations and you can do alot in a very simple engine.

Crysis is NOT a multi plateforme game like CoD4 is. The target audience is NOT the same OVERALL. So sure the guys from Crytek might want to challenge IW and the other companies using the CoD4 engine in every way possible. But here again I dont think that the 10 millions copies (see the CNet article on that: http://news.cnet.com/8301-13772_3-9959146-52.html?hhTest=1&tag=nefd.top) are all PC related .... More likely most of those are in fact Game Console variant of the game.
Lock-down system is a not so unusual way to go for popular systems after all.

Apart from that big rant I am wondering what can be really improved about radiant: it serves it purpose and it is less buggy than plenty of softwares I use every day (including some big named product from the evil empire).

Large mods is just not possible in CoD4, face it, CoD4 sucks when it comes to modsupport.
