This has happened several times but I never really made a big deal about it. But this is going too far. Almost every model I use in my maps end up leaking my map, and then when I test it the models appear as freaking Race Cars with Panzershrecks on them. LOL wtf is that? Why is there even a race car in CoD2? Can someone explain why I get this problem and why the hell theres a race car in CoD2? [ohwell]

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but did you do a search for any topics that may contain the information you were seeking before you posted this. It has been answered numerous times before by others.

For some reason the developers put in that model and it will show up in game if you do not use a static model

ie anything ending with _static at end of the name.

it doesn't only happen with vehicles... it also happens with normal models like furniture.

Same thing happened to me. My issue was when i unrared the xmodel folder it created a new subfolder. So my path was something like C:/program files/activision/call of duty 2/main/xmodel/xmodel, it should have been C:/program files/activision/call of duty 2/main/xmodel. What this did was give every single thing i used a "racecar". So i guess i would check that first and make sure you have the correct path. What i did to correct it was open up my .map file with notepad then did a find replace for everything that had /xmodel/xmodel/ to /xmodel/ and everything was fine again. Also you do not have to use just "static" models. I've only had issues with a handful of xmodels that won't work in the map and turn out as race cars. I hope this helps you.

ty all. yeah and sorry i didnt search first and i should have. but i was soo puzzled i wanted to know directly first. ill check out the other posts. based on your posts im assuming i must use a static model (any model with _static at the end of its name). ok gotcha, even the models that dont turn into race cars still end up leaking the map. Never really tried static. Tyvm [wave]

No you do not just have to use static models, just want to make sure you know that.
