now ive placed some lights, on the sides of the walls down a corrider, about 150 units apart, with light = 100 in the entity window. now when i compile and run the game, it gives bright area around the light source (light model on wall) but on the floor opposite it gives me big black areas, that are like pitch black. now why is this giving me this weird glitch, do i need to do soemthing in the entity window, or reduce the vale of light?? or even have the light directly in the ceiling?? as it only seems to occur in corriders that are very small, about 80 units across and using the austria wall txtures from chateu. please help.
thanks

Have you tried making the light radius's smaller? Are the radius's of the lights overlapping?

how about any brushes that are hidden, for a blown up wall or anything, It puts a shade where the brush is, and then when you play and hide them, a big black spot...

try reducing your light value to 75

when you click on 2 adjacent lights - the inner circles of the lights overlapping causes weird errors....

right now ive set it so i had just two lights in the corrider, it stills gives the error, i set both lights to 75, there are nearly 200 units apart so certainly arent overlapping, ive not got any hidden brushes there as far as i can see, ive got no duplicated brushes anywhere in the map, the only thing i do get is the node warning volume error, ive no idea how tof ix it, so dont know if thats maybe part of the problem for these wierd lighting effects, but its very anoying having all these big black spots dotted around the corrider when it should be lite up fully. can anyone help me out please, as ive tried most thing to get rid of them, including remaking the walls etc.. around where the light source is.

When you see an error like that you need to post it. This is like pulling teeth. You said you had a lighting problem but you didn't give all the details. We (the members) can't help if we don't get all the details. What other errors are you seeing the compile????

This is the error I pulled out of the Common Mapping Errors.
