Well I've got a really complicated way. Some one will most likely come in here and tell me their way is better (which is probably true[crazy]) Just make a big block of caulk texture and clip it to make the tunnel. Delete the excess so that you have a "rainbow" looking thing thats made out of caulk. Now texture the inside with anything you like and stretch it to as long as you like. Now copy and paste the "rainbow" and rotate it on the Z axis at an arbitrary angle, whatever you like. Now you have to be crafty with the clipper tool and clip the rotated "rainbow" to work with the original rainbow. Now just do it again for the other side.

Some one will probably come in here with a better way involving patch meshes and the patch mesh bending technique, so I'd hold off till an expert gets here.

here, 10 min with some chosen words for the patches I used. Its not hard to do if you know how to manipulate patch meshes. I think I used all 3x3's for the tunnel walls. Its very simple but I did it to show that its not as hard as you think.

Use terrain mesh, less complicated and will not toss errors.

Doesnt you get stuck if you place a terrain patch vertical and like "touch" it?
