ok when i make a map and i wan't to use custom textures and i have them in CoD4Radiant they show up but when i go in game they are white why is this?

u need to make an iwd...

go to cod 4s raw/images directory...

copy "yourcustomtexturename.iwi" into a folder called "images"

zip that up and add to your maps folder.

In addition to FAFFER's explanation: after you ZIP (not RAR) that folder, change it's extension to IWD, and name it like your map (so you would have a mp_yourmapname.iwd)
The IWD should go to [root]/usermaps/mp_yourmapname/ along with the 2 .FF files. These are the files that people who want to play your map will download.

In order to see custom textures in-game, you have to run your map through a mod (ModWarfare and customMaps are already installed by default). The same goes for textures on custom models, loadscreen and minimap.

ok well when i was in the Asset Manage i got this after saving my file and going to the Convert>Current Asset only, as dobby says to do
[duh]

error test_one does not have the correct number of mip maps
aborting
converting 1 assets, reson: 'missing cache entry'
converting starwars'...

conversion failed with 1 errors . hit key to continue

so how do i fix this and make it the correct number of mip maps
as i need it too be

so how many mipmaps when im in cs3 do i need to save it too have?

So, what's your material name, test_one or starwars ? I don't understand why there's 2 entries there.

For my textures, I use the NVidia plugin for PS (I have CS2, not sure if it works with CS3). One option is to generate mipmaps, and I can choose the number of mipmaps or set it to All. And I set it to All, so if you have that option, choose it.

i have that but when i set the mipmaps to generate at all thats when it errors i will try it one more time

ok well that did the same thing as last time still says i don't have
the correct number of mip maps [banghead]
i set it too generate ALL for mipmaps i just don't get why it says i don't have the correct number of them
