We are getting there with a completely faithful conversion of mp_rhinevalley from call of duty united offensive. Primarily the map will be built for CTF. We arehoping to borrow RGN's jeep mod (when they have it finished) to complete the experience.

Clever hacking of the BSP (which we should have done ages ago duh) has given us the exact co-ordinates of the entities in the map, so we can correctly place our brush and patchwork.
General is working on the terrain and patch walls
Myself and Rince have finished all 65 or so buildings now
we have transferred over 108 textures from UO, including making new blends for rubble, grass and soil (all better than waw textures!)

Grabbing the entity co-ords from the .bsp must of made it a hell of a lot easier on this size map!

It's going to be a pretty big level, I saw the destroyed section of a BAS bunker there... any plans to bring back that gametype too?

Anyway looking good, should bring back a lot of memories. [thumbs_up]

cant wait..one of the best uo maps....maybe include the static base's so if they ever release base for waw ....

we just took the collmap from the UO bunkers and caulked and textured the clip, so they aren't imported xmodels with script_models etc that would work with a BAS gametype. This could be a possible expansion in future, especially as I have made a sizeable mod before (merciless v4.9 - my adaptation of ChrisP's excellent mod) but we are concentrating on getting the CTF/jeeps version working first.

Our Rhine valley server (CTF RV 1 hour matches) is often no. 3 on gamemonitor and our kill or be killed server (big maps CTF 1 hour matches) is no.1 usually, so we have a great UO following, who can play this map with bolt actions with their eyes shut!

and i must add that having tested the town part of the map, the bolt actions come into their own (at last). although it is weird shooting people through stairs and walls in houses you are so familiar with being able to safely camp in...

I think we can manage to add some tanks too ;) though none of us are very keen on them.
