I've been working hard the last couple of days and got this release ready.

Quote:
The CoD Foliage Tool allows you to deploy foliage models over your map automatically. By setting the texture and models to be used, you can add as many models to a map as you want. This lessens the load as mapper, and will give you more natural and model-heavy maps without much effort ;)

You can download it from here: http://www.daevius.com/files/CoD%20Foliage%20Tools%20v3-1.zip

It has a nice new feature; it now uses a GUI, this should make the tool more usable also for non-geeks :P.

Enjoy!

okay ... noob question. I have downloaded the foilage tool, which looks absolutley awesome by the way, so what do I do with it. After extracting the files, do I place them in specific folders? As well at what point do I utilize the tool? Step by step would be great, not just for me, but for the map making for noobs tutorial I want to create.

Thanks

Uploaded v3.5, which has some examples included and a small tutorial.

@OMCscharfshutze
It doesn't matter where you place the tool. You can select the working directory on top so you can easily click the maps on the left list. Download the tool again to get v3.5, the tutorial tab should hopefully make it a little more clear.

Great program! [thumbs_up]. i had to do some trial and error on it as far as density goes. i have a larger river type map so i used 0.1 and 0.2 which worked out great for me setting it to 1 or 2 gave me like 300.000 foliage models and a 70mb .map file. all so i have a lot of floating stuff on hills but not a real huge deal with model plant handy. again great job lo0king forward to the next release.

on a side note maybe a copy of the tut that comes with the program but not part of the program closing out a window to go back and read the tut is a bummer.

Click in the tutorial textbox, hit Ctrl+A to select the whole text, copy to clipboard (Ctrl+C) and paste to texteditor of choice (Ctrl+V) [thumbs_up]
