The maps are fairly small and i have more than often been spawned in enemy fire and infront of enemy players. There is no spawn protection. Most objective based gametypes have 1or2 access points so if you get a good team camp on the objective, it becomes a game of spawn, die, spawn, die. So yes, it happens often but i wouldn'tsay it's a serious problem, yet. |

Is it still a fast paced arcade shooter like the previous CODs? or have things slowed down to incorporate better realism?
I have come across some glitches, like most doors are walk-through, but so far nothing important or atleast anything that effects gameplay.
This is in no way built for realism, it's complete run and gun mayhem at times, i can't see any real use for sniper rifles on the maps we have, and the scopes movement seems exagerated a lot more than before. If you liked perk for cod4 then they are pretty much the same in this game, you do get vehicle perks although from experience i would say tanks are overpowered already, it will take approx 5-6 rockets to take a tank out. |

hey rasta,
my questions isnt really bout the footage circling on youtube itself but more related to the modtools, anyone knows the status of the modtools? will it be released same day and does it contain all the models u see in the footage so far?
Are they gonna put a xtra option in that u can import models on a easy way in from previous cod series?
would be nice to get some info bout that if possible. |

Treyarch said, they want to release the mod tools same day. I think nobody else than Treyarch and Activision know, when and what will be released.

probably not. why should they? it's the cod4 engine, so it will be easy to get cod4 models into it. and because you can get models from earlier cod's into cod4, it'll be certainly possible to get them into cod5 as well.
@Rasta: when i watched the gameplay footage, cod5 looked a bit unrealistic and comic-like compared to cod4. can you confirm or negate this?
what about the "new squad system"? how does it work / what is it?
what can you tell us about the physics engine? do dynamic objects have collision with each other or with world geometry only again (like cod4)? |

The texture seem very bland and somewhat 'last-gen' compared to other games. There is no improvement graphically but the sound on the other seems to be improved in my opinion. Water texture seems to have a lot more movement to it but is nothing special.
Everything seem very solid (in other words, not many decals) in the maps we have, there isnt much attension to detail. Tryarch seems to have gone back a step from cod3 such as the animations on world objects (like trees etc).
On another note, the more you play it the less you want to play it any more. It really doesn't stand out at all. To be honest i think many of you will be disapointed and if you can i would advise you rent it first. |
