I was setting here thinking, would there be a way to make a Foxhole Trap?

There is a custom mp map named Silo. You can touch the box on the wall and the blast window will raise and lower. Would there be a way to script a little box on the wall of your foxhole that would raise the top of the dirt to open up when you hear a enemy run by? Like in the movie Red Dawn, when she brings the bicycle into the gas station, and starts running, and they are hiding in foxholes they have built. The top opens up, and they shoot the Russkies.

Just kinda wondering if it would be possible.[machine_gun]Russians

You could easily make a 'door' or a moving brush that would uncover the foxhole, the movement of a brush would not look very realistic though (perfect horizontal movement) as far as I know..

yes, the simpliest way is to create a func_door_rotating...
you can always edit its angle of rotation
in case of the door you dont have to have a seperate box, just press the use key to open them...

If you want some kind of box though, that will require a trigger_use and then script which moves the brush that uncoveres the foxhole...

Ofcourse you can always script the brush to move anyway you want it to... depends what kind of effect youre looking for...

Take a look at the moving things tutorial in the CoD tutorial section. CoD4 works the same.

Gen_Bloom, there is no func_door-rotating in CoD4. Or CoD2.
