Have just placed com_lightbox_on in part of my map, as there are both an on and off version of this model does this mean a light entity is not needed or is it just to give the appearance that it is on and the light entity is still needed to cast the light into the room.
Also how do you adjust the radius of the light entity so its not filling the whole room, and as its wall mounted the radius spills outside of the wall, will this cause problems?

Select the Light Enitity

Press N

Key: radius
Value: 50 (or whatever until it fills the room)

If your walls are made properly the light wont leak through the wall.

But if you experience leaks, jsut search "light leak" and you'll get a whole load of answers.

Oh and nearly forgot, no the models glow is just really a very fancy carona, its not a light.

Yes you do still need the light entity even with the "on" versions of the prefab lights.

As for not filling the whole room, the best way I have found to direct the light is to create a null entity, deselect everything, select the light entity then the null entity and hit "w" to connect them. Once this is done, move the null entity to where you want to focus the light. You will also notice that now when you select the light entity you will have two values you can adjust for both inner fov and outter fov to adjust the radius from the point of origin and the final point where the light is focused.

By doing this I have found my light generally doesn't leak if I position it correctly.
