OK, so I have a couple cod1 and cod2 maps I wanna port to cod4 but when I open them in the CoD4 radiant, it looks nothing like the original map, only a few stuctures look similar.
I remember that you were able to open cod1 maps in cod2 radiant and only lose texture. Is this possible in CoD4 radiant or do i have to completely remake the map?

from my own experience i was able to import a cod2 map that i made, into cod4 radiant and only lose the texture and everything would be caulk. then i would have to re-texture eveyrthing. I believe that they said somewhere in a forum that u would only lose the texture but nothing that they said suggested remaking the entire map. have u updated ur cod4 radiant? maybe thats the problem, idk just taking a guess here.

i dled the shader bin update and i have the 1.5 patch which i think fixed a few things but im still getting weird looking caulk that looks nothing like my original map and it is no use to me. I understand im supposed to be losing textures but im actually losing just about everything, only a few random, misplaced, and oddshaped caulk.

have you ever disabled "snap to grid"? import might only work if you aligned them to grid (at least 0.5, but nothing like 0.47, 1.234, 6.66), but that sounds stupid to me...

I haven't done this myself, but a friend of mine used the cod2 radiant to change all textures to caulk and then resaved matmata .....then he opened it up in cod4 radiant and everything was in caulk but the map looked the same..now he is in the process of retexturing...

Snap to grid works fine but yes it always shows "checked" wether its on or off.

@duck: open map file with notepad and remove all entities and leave only the brushs and patches. open it with radiant 2, make a new brush so it covers everything, hit "select inside" (toolbar), apply caulk texture. save map and try to open it with radiant 4 again.

@strudels: hopefully a 1:1 matmata rip for the public? [thumbs_up] i don't like qmx_matmata, too different to original matmata.
