I was going to buy a wide screen monitor to use for scripting (After rotating it 90 degrees), but I was thinking instead of buying a new monitor which would cost a lot for such a basic use of scripting, I'd rather go with a new graphics card for mapping and playing CoD4 and other new games like MoH:A.

My current rig:
*1280x1024 resolution
*2GB RAM
*EVGA 256-P2-N550 -T2 GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
**EVGA 256-P2-N550 -T2 GeForce 7600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
*Rosewill RD600-2DB-SL SLV ATX Form Factor 12V V2.2 / SSI standard EPS 12V 600W Active PFC Power Supply
*AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Processor, 1GB FSB, 512KB L2 Cache per core
*ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

It seems like everyone goes with the 8 series of Nvidia cards.
Do you have any recommendations that are a good bang for the buck?
I saw someone at IWN post this card that they're looking into
I don't need to go with SLI this time around, one card would do.

Or should I stay with my 7600GTs?
When I run CoD2 in DX9 with everything maxed, it runs fairly good but I only average 20-30 frames... kind of worries me since CoD4 is graphically better. :P

Just came across this one, one of the reviews on that main page had what I have -- 2 7600GTs.

Than there's this one which is almost the same as that one but $10 more

Should I go with one of those?

You are well equipped right now. Why don't you wait until IW release the system requirements before you buy anything?

LoL...I'd be happy with just one Geforce 7600 GT 128-bit 256MB DDR3 on AGP 8X! LOLOL...

Anyways...at least CoD4 will be using DX9 instead of DX10 (destroys the need for a 8600/8800 for this game)...even though its a tricked-out version...

If you're willing to invest the money, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an 8800 GTX and 2 Gigs of RAM will make you very, very happy. With all the settings maxed (which includes forcing DX9 for everything), I get a minimum of 100 FPS in CoD2. I cap out in the 220's when I'm looking up at the sky.

My benchmark score with 3dmark isn't even that great.
