Dear members, After a 6 months break I started mapping again, but im kinda stuck. I´ve allready tried several search engines and modding websites to find my problem. A few had an answer for my problem. They said that they should build a skybox around the level. Well, I know there´s nothing wrong with my skybox and to test if it was only my map I also tested the .map files you get when you install the editor (the stock ones mp_matmate etc) and I still get the same problem. OK BoBo- Couple of items: 1st-Remove the maps and mods from your /Main directory. I saw Tigertown.iwd and Sie.iwd at the top of your compile log and C2.iwd at the bottom of your 1st set of .iwds that are loading. EVERYTHING conflicts with Radiant so it must be a pure version of CoD2 in the /Main folder. 2nd- Computer RAM is a big issue and I had the same problem. I only have 256 M of RAM and got the exact same error. I simply went into the computer system (Windows Control Panel->System->Advanced tab->Performance settings) and increased my virtual memory to 1024 M min and 2048 M max. Radiant works perfectly now and compiles with no problems. Hope this gets you back on track! Let me know. edited on Jan. 17, 2007 10:31 am by MadMan-1

Looks to me like you didn't tick the "compile BSP" box in the compiler.

First of all thnx that you guys toke the effort to help me. Well, to be honest nothing worked. Ive got 1 GB of RAM and my virtual memory was quiet high, so i dont think thats the problem. And i did tick the BSP compile box. And my Main folder plus normal folder are clean. So if someone got some suggestions let me know! OK- 1- Do you have Framework .NET 2.0 up and running properly? 2-Complete delete of CoD2 ModTools and reinstall? 3-Are you positive that you have everything ticked for a test compile per Stryder's posts? Also check out the ModsOnline Mapping Bible to get the proper compile settings. You are having problems with the basic startup functions in Radiant. The compiler is not writing your .bsp and I have found that it is the initial, basic functions of Radiant that cause this problem. Are you playing and mapping from the same directory? There is a fix for that, also. Sorry, brother, everything has to be perfect for Radiant to work... Keep on working.

I've allready checked 1 & 2. Maybe ill try to uninstall my game and editor and do it all over again. Because this is kinda stupid. I am playing and mapping from the same directory. Shall i install a new version ? Like in copy the cod2 folder and put it somewhere else for mapping only ? Greetz, Bobo

That is what I did. I installed CoD2 under the default...Program Files/Activision/CoD2 I then patched Activision/CoD2 to version 1.3 I then copied the pure, patched version of Program Files/Activision/CoD2 to...C:/CoD2 I map out of Program Files/Activision/CoD2 and I play out of C:/CoD2 LOL running out of ideas!!

Ive done with you´ve done, now i get this error. cod2map.exe - Could not find the file This program could not be loaded because d3dx9_27.dll have not been found. Re-install this program could fix this problem. 6 months ago it worked :p edited on Jan. 17, 2007 04:23 pm by bobo34
