I've made a damage trigger to blow up a barrel when it's shot. I've got all the explosion effect in there. Thing is, I want it to hurt the player when the explosion takes place. Is there anyway of linking a hurt_trigger area to the explosion so the player only gets hurt when it happens? A bit like in S&D if you stand too near the bomb.

Thanks guys, I am new to scripting btw, but not mapping :)

in the gsc...just call on a player hurt in the radius of the explosion

// Set the origin for the explosion and radius damage
origin = explosion getorigin();

// Do radius damage to kill players in the area, perameters are (origin, range, maxdistance, mindistance)
radiusDamage(origin, 500, 2000, 1000);

Thanks for the response, but that just flew straight over me :(...I'm a complete NooB when it comes to scripting. I've followed the "Breakable Windows" Tutorial on this site and basically adapted it to be a fuel tank. I've just gotta mymap_fx.gsc with :-

well your _fx.gsc wont help you if you dont create a gsc to call on it...

check out the bomb tutorial and the suppliments file as well

check out Getting Started in Scripting (moving things) as it will give you a basic idea of the required syntax and some of the terminology [angryalien]

there really is no trigger hurt...it is a trigger damage...and the damage stands for what triggers it

it sounds like you want a trigger multiple that would be just inside the door....check out the minefield tutorial and adapt it to your situation (in essence - create a mini-minefield just inside the door) [angryalien]

download Shotguns_Rooms, there are triggers for bombs andd more, and the map file and scripts are included
