I have finally figured out how to make a loadscreen!!!

1. Make your loadscreen in photoshop, paintshop, or whatever you use. Make your image 1024 *1024. Save it as a .dds file (this is assuming you already have the .dds plugin) Save it as the format DXT5 ARGB (Interpolated Alpha) with no MIP maps.

2. Now open the asset manager. Scroll down to material, click it and click the new entry button. Name the new entry loadscreen_mp_yourmapname.

3. Now set the material type to 2d. Set the surface type to None. Set sort to multiplicative. Set usage to not in editor.

4. Move down to Color Map and browse for your .dds file. Leave the rest of the settings to their default.

5. On the tool bar go to PC Convert and then current asset only. A command prompt will open. When it is complete press any key to exit it.

6. You should now have an images folder with a loadscreen_mp_yourmapname.iwi and in a materials folder a loadscreen_mp_yourmapname.

7. Now you can put these folders into your .iwd file.

8. One other file you need is a .csv in your maps>mp directory. Create it in notepad. It should look like this
Code:
Briefing,loadscreen_mp_yourmapname

Save this with the .csv extension.

9. Put all the folders together with Winrar or whatever program you use and your loadscreen should work![crazy]

I hope this helps! If anyone sees anything wrong just post it. This worked for me.[thumbs_up]

You have to save the project first.
Go to File - Save As in the Asset Manager and save it.

my problem:
When the asset manager writes the .iwd File it has a total size of 1kb, that cant be correct but otherwise i cant find a misstake in my settings :(.

Yes, that's the materials-file.
But the asset-manager also makes an .iwi file out of the .dds, and this .iwi file has a size of about 1kb but the original .dds is about 1MB.
So where is the problem? :(

Ok, you need to rename your .iwi in the images folder to loadscreen_mp_mapname.iwi

See if that works[thumbs_up]
