Hi guys,

I started building a map layout with Radiant for MW. Is there anything that I need to do when I convert the map?

If you guys can point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Just make easier on yourself by not texturing or placing any models, apart from that, map away [thumbs_up]

so essentially start fresh is what your saying...

I have ALL of my structures as prefabs so if I re-caulk them- it should be ok, right?

You can leave the textures, assuming the new tools will have the 'find/replace texture' tool that the last few have had and replace them that way (the method i will be using) but this may be more tricky then just texturing again.

It will work as long as the texture you replace is the same size - otherwise you most likely will end up with stretching and so on. Another method, maybe for more experienced, is to use Notepad+ and use the text find/replace, its very useful and less dangerous than the Find/replace from Radiant (backup first anyway of course!)

hey guys, I have a follow up question.

I have gotten rid of ALL of the prefabs, lights, worldspawn settings, & the sky for the map I'm converting.

I've caulked everything on the map which is pretty much just terrain & blocks. I copied the caulked MW radiant map to the W@W map_source directory. I'm able to open the file, but when I try to save my work, W@W radiant just craps out.

What am I not doing right?

Ok, just found out I can't save anything (tried starting a new map) with W@W editor...just crashes

hmm
try:
delete all terrain type textures from sed map
delete all entities/ models/ nodes ect
and then

open that cod4 map in cod4 radiant, and change EVERY LAST BRUSH MODEL TEXTURE to chawk

then open a cod waw map in word pad
find the exact name for chawk,

then open the cod4 map then do a CTRL + h
replace all the cod4 chawk lines to cod waw chawk ( i imagen they're different)

should work, probly not.. ehh try.. :)

I'm reinstalling WaW editor since I was unable to save ANY file, even one created natively in WaW radiant.

I figure I may have screwed something up during the install/patch process...

ok I've reinstalled & patched everything & still am not having any luck saving my files.

The projectFile does point to codwaw.prj.

I know this sounds stupid but I'm grasping here- but does installing 2 different versions of Radiant on the same drive cause problems???

Please help

It shouldn't matter...I have COD2 and WaW and I used to have COD4 and WaW.

When you say it crashes does it give an error?
