hi
i made a woodladder that sits at a angle against a building using the woodladder brush i tried everything from clipping the brush to follow angle of the ladder and different sizes but it keeps acting as a slingshot how to get the ladder so it acts as a normal ladder ?
tried searching the forums but found nothing

thanks

I remember the first time I ran into this, I started to climb the ladder and got shot over the house into the field next to it. The only way I've found to do this is leave the ladder straight up and down. If you tilt the ladder brush say [wave]. Makes for a cool effect if used in other ways. Sorry, never found an answer either.

make your ladder with ladder texture then save it as a prefab and then add it to your map as a prefab and you will be able to move it tilt it spin it any way you want without issues

Ran into something like this in cod4, when you get on the ladder you would automatically climb it. Fixed it by making the ladder brush a rectangular box, emcompassing the ladder. NO TILT, NO ANGLES, JUST A BOX, NO CLIPPING IT NICE AND TIGHT. Start the brush at the bottom where the player mounts it, then extend the brush to the top of the ladder, then back to where the player gets off.

Note: The player will actually climb the clipping so if it's too drastic of angle your player may look to be floating, and you may consider laying it down a little more, so the player can walk up it.

The ladder texture uses an animscript which can not work at severe angles - You can have a ladder slanting slightly - very slightly and it will work. Testing is needed though.

The best way to make a ladder with no errors is to make it vertical.

Hmm... i got an idea not sure if it will work but why dont you try having like 3 or 4 seperate brushes so it will acutually climb them fall off and on to the other one and repeat?

i dont know if that would work and i dont know how slight the tilt is so....

Thanks, Ukdjaj[thumbs_up]
