Starting Note: Someone started this map, but put off to the side (temporarily or forever) and gave me the OK to start this one.

I have not yet started on it, except for some 3D models in Google SketchUp.

It will feature a plaza with many stores (Best Buy, Ross, JCPenny, the works) and feel free to sugest stores. The

zombies will come in through barricaded stairs and other areas. Especially where you least expect it... and there

will be an option to go on roof and zombies will be climbing up the side of the roof. Elevators will take you to different levels.

There will be three levels inside and then the roof. Flamethrower and raygun will be available for buy, but at a

heavy cost. Project may easily take longer than two months. (First map and I have to do alot of reading up and learning.)

Last thing: Is it possible to import models from Google SketchUp?

I'm going to spend a lot of time on extreme detail, so stay tuned for later information, progress, sweet screenshots, and an awesome video trailer.

Yes, you need SketchUp Pro to export your models to OBJ. You can use TOXEC to convert it into XMODEL_EXPORT and use assetmanager to convert it into XMODEL. Should work for static models.

Well then I might just make my map on Sketchup...

Which is easier, Sketchup or the Radiant tool?

You can actually use the free version of SketchUp and just export to the .kmz format which I believe is basically a zip file that you can open. You should see a .dae file which is the model info.

Import the .dae into Blender or any modeling program that supports it, then export it to .obj and then TOXEC can work on it so you have a .xmodel_export as a result.

Thanks, I only have the free version, so can we actually switch the subject to the map now [biggrin]

I have started to do a bit on Sketchup already, and this map
may take several months (sorry about that) but I am not given much time to work on it. Such a busy life. lol
