Hey all...[cool]

Ok tried allmost everything now..Search the modsforum for similar topics and couldnt really find a answer on my problem..Hope some of you can help..[ohwell]

Ive made this beachline of different sets of patches.. First I cut some of them out of my original 512x512 terrain patches and altered the verticies but after the error in compile I redid the whole thing out of original patches in different sizes but no luck...

Heres the error log.. Sure you seen this problem before..

"C:\Programmer\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\map_source\mp_winterassault4.map" 0 160 3673.36 142.039 16 0 -0 -1 "Lightmap 527x91 is larger than 512x512; need a sampleScale of at least 1.1"

I then go 2 the location and its one of the pacthes at the beachline - delete it and the next pop up.. Used the Lmap or GAP function on all the terrain while doing it aslo after I altered the verticies. Anyone got a clue? Is it because I cant move the verticies outside the size of the patch and only in towards center?

The terrain patches are probably too big. Make smaller ones instead

hmm.. you say you did that already..

is the patch highlighted in the screenshot one patch? or several?

Thx for the fast reply..The highlighted terrainpatches are not one pacth.. just to show how I made it.. just added smaller pacthes fitting the original terrainpacthes and moved the verticies manually out 2 make the bendshape in the beachline

Well.. one of the things... you don't need to make all those terrain into patches. You can just use brushes if your terrain is flat anyway.

That should make (most of?) the errors go away

hehe still planing to do roads hills etc.. its an early stage of the map.. Only 20 % done so fare... The flat terrain in just the outlay.. Thats why im concernd allready about this error having in mind im going 2 mirror it 4 sniping [crazy]

Ill just have to face the fact that radiant is set in this world to make me experience every little error possible.. tried it all about now lol

Try this tut out. May get rid of those lightmap errors. Its for COD1 but should be the same principles for COD4

When ever im manipulating verts i do this after i apply the texture.

Thx for the help both of u... Seems like you cant lightmap alot of patches in one click.. Retextured the terrain and had to lightmap one at a time and it works now... [casanova]
