I'm having issues with compiling... or maybe just issues playing the compiled map.

I get a bunch of errors with my test map. However, I can join as a spectator. But I can't join as a player.

The wiki from treyarc isn't complete enough to help on this.

So.. test room is a box with all possible spawn points.
I compile with:
-BSP
-Lights
(not vis - that doesn't work and the wiki doesn't list it)
-Connect paths
-Reflections
-Fasfiles
-BSP Info
-Run map After

compile the map... but with errors list below.

loads the game.

I get an error, something about "host already connected".

I manually type /map test

map runs but I am a spectator.

i did the exact same thing foyle, compiled everything except vis, got also a bunch of errors saying acced denied but i got in the map as a player, only the vieuw was messed up and had the weapon in my face all the time.
tested it with tdm spawns.

I've compiled and got it to work. I get all the access denied errors as well.

To fix the gun in your face error you need to have a mp_YOURMAPNAME.csv file. I think there are no characters being loaded so it just loads a gun. The .csv file should contain the team types. Mine says:

My map name is range. I don't believe you need a .gsc file for it to be fixed. The .csv file goes in the zone_source folder. Open up the mp_barebones.csv file to look and see what they have in there.

I too get the access denied errors, trying to work around it. The main problem is they seem to have much lower limits, i ported a map i made for cod4, completly caulked apart from one area im working on, compiled and stuck with this max visability, just a pain because there is no possible way to reduce the visdatasize other than removing parts of the map.

Ill let you know if i come up with anything.

Be sure to first create a map through the launcher, and THEN modify that new map file with the radiant.

I made a exact copy of csv file's in zone_source of mp_barbones for my map mp_test

zone_source/mp_test.csv
zone_source/english/assetlist/mp_test.csv

so i copyied the contents of the same version of the mp_barebones csv file into my mp_test one and "Find and replaced" mp_barbones for mp_test.

Thanks Full-Demon. You lead me down the right path to solving the issue.

Start the Launcher.
Click 'Create Map'
Enter the name of your new map.
Click 'Radiant' (what you have selected makes no difference)
In radiant, open your new map that you just created in the Launcher.
Now start editing with the data you see there as a guide.

I was also successful following the above method, then selecting everything, deleting it, and start from that point. Good in case you don't want the stuff they gave you as a guide
