juat a little quesiotn lets say i have a house and a garden infront of the primary door to that house. when i build a portal brush what side get the portal_no_draw and what side gets the portal? indoor ? outdoor? i didn't get that. ty for your time.

That doesn't matter. As long as all sides but one are portal_no_draw and the remaining one the portal texture. THAT is the one which seals the cell, the no-draw texture is ignored by the compiler.

So I would have to hollow my brush out and put 3 sides portal-no-draw texture and 1 side portal texture? Is that what you are saying? Thanks in advance.

No, I said make abrush out of portal_nodraw and then make one face portal. Just like in the CoD tutorial.

Thanks in advance. no man , one brush one side no_draw_portal and one side portal. do it with SHIFT + CTRL + Left Mouse Button so you select just one side or face of that brush.
