ok i made my own textures and i got them in the map but they wont show up when i test my map. Why is this?

Did you update your zonefile and made sure your textures are in that list?

some things to know about costume textures.
now , i don't know if you know it already , but i'll write it anyway.


costum textures , will work only in a mod , and won't work on the deafult game.
second , after you convert your textures in the assets manager and it goes well , you can see them in your Radiant where ever you put them. (under the sections you choosed).

finally , when you test or play your map , you need the converted files , aka IWI for images.
it can be found at COD4/raw/images

take these files (texture_name.iwi) and put them here >>

creater a new folder on your desktop (or wherever)
and name it images.
>>


\images
>> texture_name.iwi
>> texture_name2.iwi

take this image folder you have just created and compress it into a zip file , i reapet , a zip file not a rar or anything else
the zip file should be renamed using windows to mp_mapname.zip then you rename it again to mp_mapname.iwd.

eventually you should have a zip file that looks like this

mp_mapname.iwd (zip turned into "iwd")
{folder}
>>images
{inside the folder} >>
texture_name.iwi
texture_name2.iwi
etc...


now , you take the newely created iwd and you put it first in the Usermaps\mp_mapname and secondly in the mod folder you want to play.

for first timers , i say put it on Mods\CostumeMaps
it all should work fine right now.

enter the game , and choose the mod , host a server and type your map name in console "/map mp_mapname".

have fun.

so how does the texture looks? ^^
btw , don't forget that if you put alot of new textures you'll need to include all of them in an IWD file , now i don't know if there is a way to do one IWD file containing images for multiple maps , now that i wonder..
anyone?

multiple maps using same user created textures..
can they use one IWD file instead of a few that will just take more space?
