Sorry,
at the top of the grid there is the "xyz" (change views) button, the one you want is to its right, like a half blue half white icon.
Hope this helps...

thmapper, i know this is off-topic, but i noticed you have Rome: Total War. I have been trying to decide whether of not i should get it, and i was wondering if you could give some comments about the game.

hey rough rider i know this questin wasnt aimed at me but .. i will say Rome: TW is such an awsome game! depending on what you like, if you liked medieval tw then you shouldnt hesistate to get this dude, there more units and best of all its 3d (as you probably guess im a big fan lol )

but to comment on it: i think theres a lot to do and its always different, a downfall is there is only 3 factions you can be (roman obviously) and also theres a lot to take in! huge battles but does require a quite powerful computer to run smoothly :-(

anyways sry to butt in [wink]

The button that thmapper has diplayed is very usefull for large, graphically intense maps in Gradiant. You can also go into your preferences and manually set the clipping range. I have a fairly large map and I have the need for a large clipping range. I still use that button at times when Im working on a small area and I'm not concerened with altering large or distant objects.
A good example is let's say you havea gigantic skybox. If the box is big enough, you still won't be able to see the inner faces off in the distantce. Even with the cubic clip button off! You can edit the preferences to allow Gradiant to render objectsvery far away. Of course if you do this, the computer will be taxed since it has to render more stuff.

Another thing that helps when working in large spaces, is an option to ajust mouse/camera speeds. *I think it's in the same preferences page* What this does is when you move your camera around, it moves the camera at a faster speed. Again, let's say you're in Gradiant working on a large map. You're on one side of the map and all of the sudden you need to move over to the opposite side to make a quick change. Well, by default you will have to drag your mouse over, and over, and over to finally get to the position you want. By editing the mouse/camera speed in the preferences, you will be able to zoom across your map at a much quicker rate. Comes in handy sometimes.
Just some info for you.
