like i did, u want to know how to add those god rays that add spice to ur rooms, so with the help of johnb1989 and modsonline, here is how to do it

first i guess u already have a room with a window


best i think is to start with a caulk texture, u put a brush in ur room, just in front of ur window.


now u need to cut this brush with the clipper tool so that ur brush define the volume of ur rays.
clipper tool (CTRL + Right Mouse Button)
once its cut area is drawn, i use the SHIFT+ENTER to cut the rush in 2 parts. select only the part you want to delete and delete it.


do the same for the bottom part of ur brush, or it wont be realistic enough


now u need to select the brush and add the ch_godrays01 or ch_godrays_fire texture


SHIFT+SELECT every face and edit the texture position in the "surface inspector" (S) rotate the texture so it fits the sun direction


save, compile and test the map


ur done :)

awsome1- 1 question tho- where can I find the ch_godrays01 texture?

i think those 2 textures arent in any categories, but im not sure.
just be sure to have all texture in ur editor, then go down the list to the ch_, im sure u will find it :)

bah i made an error :(
its not SHIFT+SELECT all faces, it should be CTRL+SHIFT SELECT
w/e u get the idea and of course u can find other tweakings.
