this is probably useless but i was working on my map and an error came up that basically crashed radiant. when i opened the map back up all of my entities were gone along with any work i have done in the last 1-2 weeks. im so upset. would a system restore help? is there a way to convert .bsb to .map? please, any ideas let me know.

No way to reverse convert that I'm aware of buddy.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I think you will have to start over.

A little after the horse has bolted but it is PRIORITY that you keep a copy of the map file for times like this.

I create my map then save again as mp_mymapCOPY.map
Updating both as I go providing any additions I make to the original are sound before overwriting the copy.

Sorry there isn't anything else I can suggest.
You are welcome to try a system restore, but I wouldn't hold out much hope of it restoring your file.

I'd give a try to a software like the one in this article. It is a low level file restoration. But as far as .b3bsp file, there is probably no solution. There was a tool for .bsp files though. but that is from a different era alltogether.
