Would it be possible to make the writing a bit more clear, as I can't read it. It is too blurry.

So, first add the weapons_clip, and then around it, not touching, put a clip_player?

Ok, it works but the model becomes pretty much all black again.

If I only use the weapons clip, I get the same result as well.

Maybe we should try and figure what is causing the model to become black?

In a sense, as the model is a destroyed tank, the blackness kind of gives it a burned-out look. That actually does not matter too much, but it would be nicer if the model is a bit light, like how it is in the editor.

strange.

i suppose you could make a full collmap for it. it might stop it turning black

Start a new map, and load the xmodel up putting it's origin at 0,0,0.
Draw the clip brush for it, no_sight_metal should do, as well as an origin brush over the xmodel's origin.

delete the xmodel from the map, and export the rest as a map, and copy it into the collmaps folder, and possibly make a new pk3 with a collmaps folder in that, and copy the map into that too.

clipfull might work better than clipweap

also, you're not assigning a clip to a mesh are you? only a few clips work properly on meshes

I tried using the clip_full texture, but it still was black. Right now, I am using the clip_metal texture and it works fine. The only thing missing is the sparks when you shoot at it.

I could try your suggestion about making the new map and loading the xmodel. I will do that when I have got more time.

Also, what is a mesh? Sorry, I am not good with mapping yet.

patches or terrains are meshes. they can give smooth curves but shouldn't be used for clips
