Hi guys,
This is a weird problem and is kinda hard to explain but hopefully the screenshots can talk for me.

I am making a map and I am exagerating the size of towers. The problem is the window textures, from the ground you can see some models that are on the roof, from the ground looking through the windows. As seen in this screenshot

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/7153/shot0001yb6.jpg

Same with fallinh down the tower you can see the base of it through the windows. But you can only see stuff through the windows further away.
I have added a huge solid brush using the texture of the tower that covers the entire INSIDE of the tower as well, yet you can still see through it. Is there some kind of tool/ texture I can cover something in to avoid it. Obviously using Anistropic filtering seems to make it a tad better when looking up at the tower, but falling down it is the same, you can still see the base...

as shown in this screenshot

http://img108.imageshack.us/img108/9608/shot0002pq9.jpg

Please, there MUST be a way of fixing this. Recreating every window is a real LAST RESORT due to the gaps between windows is a seperate brush and as you can see, there are many windows [lol]

Thank you,
Jack

i think you should try removing the window textures and place them one unit off the tower. alot of time when you place some textures against a brush it makes the brush become transparent. it happens to me everytime i use a metal wire mesh as a ladder. it makes the brush become transparent. so i move the wire mesh one unit off the brush then put the ladder tool over the mesh. you can't really tell that the wire mesh isn't touching the brush because it's only one unit. that is really small.
try that and let me know if it worked for ya

Are the windows textured with caulk on the inside?

Dont know if it is the same as graydient, but I noticed when i left some brushes with caulk on the sides I didnt want visible. Made a wire gate and left the bottom and top with caulk texture, and I could see all the way to my skybox.

ok your problem is simple

when you play on a map

one made by creators of cod2 or a person the computer filters the map in stages meaning

the ground and solid object you should be able to see but as a xmodel the game takes it away untill you come close to it as shown over here

as you notice the grass is there when you zoom in but when you are not the grass is not there i think that is your problem

I understand what you are saying but the problem is I can see the Xmodel (flak88's) are always visible... through the windows. Hopefully there is something I can do to the windows textures..

How do you created the tower and the windows?
Do you have created the tower as one big brush (or 4 walls, which doesn't matter) with the windows added as decals (the way you have to do it), or have you clipped out the windows and placed brushes with the decal texture into the holes (wrong way)?

I have spaces for the windows... I'll correct it and see if it helps. Thank you very much!
