This is starting to be a real pain. The map I am working on has several points of entry to the mother of all bunkers for manufacturing of V2 rockets.
These entry points require clipped and rotated brushes for the entrances. When I clip a brush then rotate it, place it, compile the map I am seeing areas around the brush with what looks like a brush is gone or has a clip texture on it. See through is what I call it.
I have tried clipping the brush in another map and saving it as a prefab then loading it in the main map but still see the same effect.
Also, I have tried using a simple patch. This seems to work okay but I can't get the concrete texture to line up or display correctly on the patch. If it is just a rectangle it looks okay, but when I start moving the vertices around to make an arc effect I can't get the textures to look decent or line up with the surrounding concrete texture. Using the Shift+L for lightmap mode the squares look almost identical to the surrounding area. If you look at my project mp Eperlecques you will see what I am looking for. If running the map and walking inside the arch ways the textures will be invisible on the inside where I have placed the clipped brush.
Anybody seen this with clipped and rotated brush work?
Thanks

It may be that the brushes are badly clipped thus a face will not be shown in game - it wont exist. This happens most often if they are rotated at angles that arnt 45 degrees.

On a patch once you have moved the vertices use shift+control+n to cycle through the cap texture angles (ie cap the texture and rotate it 90 degrees) then you can line it up with your other textures.

Hope this helps

Thanks. I would really rather use a patch there so I can get a much cleaner radius in thos angle corners. Will try the shift+ctrl+n. Hope that works better than the surface inspector.
