Quote (D'sparil @ Nov. 16 2005, 12:56 am) | The games coming out lately are mostly so horrible that it is safer to download them, and then spend the 50$. I bought AoE II, Morrowind, the rest of the games out there is rubbish... I would have paid 30, but not 50. I downloaded Morrowind then bought Morrowind - there is absolutely no difference. And before I started downloading I bought Battledield, MoH, Half-Life 2, and they all turned out rubbish, my 150 bucks wasted. Why buy such rubbish? Why encourage their creation? No thanks. I download a game, see what it is, then I will buy it, if it's worth the money. Or, I can buy a game if it is good by secure sources, like Oblivion, Gothic III, Heroes V - I will definately buy those at once, I trust those teams. But I lost trust in Ensemble and didn't buy AOEIII - and thank god I didn't. I don't trust Raven - their game turned out OK, but a 30 game, not 50. Same goes for doom, but there are two mods for it, so I will have to buy it. But these games are not heXen-Heretic-TES-Homm-Quake standard that I can trust them. Not to mention I'm foreign, not at all rich like you are. I don't have 50$ for every bad game I buy not knowing what it is. A demo could have been the case - but then I liked hl2 demo, didn't like the game.... I downloaded a lot of different versions and have a lot of legal copies, so don't tell me that there is any difference between a torrent and a box, except, perhaps, the existence of that box. #### I love boxes. But I want "masterpiece" written on them, not "rubbish".
ANd I must add - I complain the least on this forum, regarding quake. I complain regarding heXen. |
Nah mate, the difference between a torrent and a box is that the box funds the developer and publisher, which in turn funds more patches, better games etc, a torrent does not. Do you still have Q4 on your HD? Anyway, there`s always reviews to see if your going to like it, do a little research. Oh yeah, just because you can`t afford a game is no excuse to download it, go without. |

Did you hear me? I DON'T want to support games like Quake IV. I want to support games like Morrowind and Oblivion. But games like Quake - I want less of them. Reviews - are you out of your mind? Everybody likes F. E. A. R., but it is actually not worth a second look. Everybody has his own opinion, you can't just look at somebody who likes a game and that does not mean you will like it. Paying the money does not make better games. It shows that gamers are cattle that eat everything you give them. I boycott F. E. A. R. I boycott Quake IV. I boycott AoE III. Get it? I don't want to fund them. I funded Ensemble Studious - and what did they give me? Their game became worse, and the fact that I did not pay is my sign of protest. I don't want to support AoE III. Why pay? Explain that to me? After I downloaded it, I uninstalled it three days later.
No, Quake has been removed from my HD and replaced by a much better game called heXen beyond Heretic.
The fact that I'm not the richest person is an excellent excuse for me downloading them, then buying them. I have many licenzed games, I can give you a list, but they all were downloaded first. That is safe, and I still fund the right company. No one loses, except lousy companies. |

I could care less for your excuse as there isn't any excuse for piracy ! If you aren't sure about if you will like a game wait for a demo &/or wait for it to go budget I'm not sure how stupid you have to be to post on a Dev's board about downloading games including their own and think that it's ok ! |
