Are you running somewhere? Please be careful with your grammar. I'm foreign after all.

Dark Watch? Maybe Night Watch?

The games coming out lately are mostly so horrible that it is safer to download them, and then spend the 50$. I bought AoE II, Morrowind, the rest of the games out there is rubbish... I would have paid 30, but not 50. I downloaded Morrowind then bought Morrowind - there is absolutely no difference. And before I started downloading I bought Battledield, MoH, Half-Life 2, and they all turned out rubbish, my 150 bucks wasted. Why buy such rubbish? Why encourage their creation? No thanks. I download a game, see what it is, then I will buy it, if it's worth the money. Or, I can buy a game if it is good by secure sources, like Oblivion, Gothic III, Heroes V - I will definately buy those at once, I trust those teams. But I lost trust in Ensemble and didn't buy AOEIII - and thank god I didn't. I don't trust Raven - their game turned out OK, but a 30 game, not 50. Same goes for doom, but there are two mods for it, so I will have to buy it. But these games are not heXen-Heretic-TES-Homm-Quake standard that I can trust them. Not to mention I'm foreign, not at all rich like you are. I don't have 50$ for every bad game I buy not knowing what it is. A demo could have been the case - but then I liked hl2 demo, didn't like the game.... I downloaded a lot of different versions and have a lot of legal copies, so don't tell me that there is any difference between a torrent and a box, except, perhaps, the existence of that box. #### I love boxes. But I want "masterpiece" written on them, not "rubbish".

ANd I must add - I complain the least on this forum, regarding quake. I complain regarding heXen.

Nah mate, the difference between a torrent and a box is that the box funds the developer and publisher, which in turn funds more patches, better games etc, a torrent does not.

Do you still have Q4 on your HD? Anyway, there`s always reviews to see if your going to like it, do a little research.
Oh yeah, just because you can`t afford a game is no excuse to download it, go without.

Did you hear me? I DON'T want to support games like Quake IV. I want to support games like Morrowind and Oblivion. But games like Quake - I want less of them. Reviews - are you out of your mind? Everybody likes F. E. A. R., but it is actually not worth a second look. Everybody has his own opinion, you can't just look at somebody who likes a game and that does not mean you will like it. Paying the money does not make better games. It shows that gamers are cattle that eat everything you give them. I boycott F. E. A. R. I boycott Quake IV. I boycott AoE III. Get it? I don't want to fund them. I funded Ensemble Studious - and what did they give me? Their game became worse, and the fact that I did not pay is my sign of protest. I don't want to support AoE III. Why pay? Explain that to me? After I downloaded it, I uninstalled it three days later.

No, Quake has been removed from my HD and replaced by a much better game called heXen beyond Heretic.

The fact that I'm not the richest person is an excellent excuse for me downloading them, then buying them. I have many licenzed games, I can give you a list, but they all were downloaded first. That is safe, and I still fund the right company. No one loses, except lousy companies.

I could care less for your excuse as there isn't any excuse for piracy !

If you aren't sure about if you will like a game wait for a demo &/or wait for it to go budget

I'm not sure how stupid you have to be to post on a Dev's board about downloading games including their own and think that it's ok !

In a world where modern games must be paid for, it must be hard for someone who forces themselves not to like any game beyond heretic/heXen.

Mmmmmm you are incorrect untill the industry makes it where you can return a game and get your money back some are going to want to test the game to see if its worth it ,if the retailer want to bkaclist soemone for to mny returns that fine but to make it where you can not get a refund is it  ridiculous to want your money back if a game is crap in your opinion? the way it is now the publisheris keep the money even if the game is returned to the retailer..its rather sad.

Thats why I buy used 90% of the time and rarely will shell out my money for a new retail copy of a game untill I know it is worth it,D'sparil has a point altho I will dissagree with Quake-3 being bad but then hes not a action FPS gamer more a Adventure FPS gamer *L*  :P

I manggaed to get my 50 back for Q4 love localy owen stores store credit beats nothing at all *L*

ALso alot of games are not getting demos nowadays, altho that should be  a sign of it not being par...I also did it with PSX about 7 out of 10 games were worth buying.

I got HL2 and refuse to deal with STEAM in any whitch way shape or form, tell me I am breaking the law for useing NO STEAM HACKS on a game I paid 40 soemthing for and didnt sign up for monthly fees, its not a MMORPG I can hack it all I want to impromve preformance and such just cant whine about glitchs and crashs much *L*

HL2 is a good game but not good enough to suffer STEAM.....

Wheezle
Dont mean in a world where games have a monthly fee to aply them? *L* STREAM is just a hairs thread from beign a pay service *L*

HL2 is a wee bit nerfed the level designs are pretty desent tho.

I have been thinking even with Activision forceing them to release the game if they had 6 more months to fix it the game would still suffer from basic level design, avrage eneime design, avrage weapon design 0-o

ZippyDSMLEE: It's cool that you can return a game to a store. Developers will never refund money though. It all depends on the goodwill of a store. This is nothing out of the ordinary, I don't know how it is there, but here if you buy a CD or DVD and you don't have it sealed, you can't expect stores to take it back and give you a refund.

Ryo.. said "I could care less for your excuse as there isn't any excuse for piracy !" and that is correct. Your reply to that is what benefits you. When you buy a game (or CD or DVD) this is an agreement between you and a retailer, not between you and a publisher.
Should I be able to buy a new game, play it for a year and then bring it back to the store and show the receipt to expect my money back? If they do, that's great but it has nothing to do with the issue here. Same as with buying CD's, once the seal is broken you can't return it for obvious reasons.

I fail to see what that has to do with my post as I made no mention of refunds.... Unless you are trying to say that downloading software you haven't paid for is acceptable, which it isn't !!!
