but its true, and illustrates a point... just because something isnt absolutely required doesnt mean its not a good thing to have.

and adding these script features wont make it longer or more tedious than what is already going on, (it has to occour before the match restarts) the explosion will just look more realistic is all.

i seriously doubt raven would have a problem swallowing anything you have. not that they would even want to.
i really hate having to respond in a fashion like this, but blatant trashing of a group which gratuitiously offers assistance is a slap in the face.

raven should ignore jibes like this from people who obviously are unhappy without a team of coders living inside THEIR computer, making games solely for them.

i'll get off my soapbox now  :p

I remember the Raven map in the first SOF. Did anybody ever go in those rooms you could open? I saw people spawning in them and leaving them right away. Those doors would just get in the way. Damage to corpses was a different thing: Everybody seemed to like plugging a few shots in them or blow them apart with grenades. If I had to choose one feature, I'd go for shootable corpses.
Yes, I was physically abused as a child.

fragger that isnt a mapping feature, this thread is about creating an addon containing mapping features only. but then again maybe it should be on the list since it doesnt alter the gameplay and was in sof1 -- as for the doors, when we somehow, some way, get them... youre not allowed to use a single one! and same to all of you who oppose these features and would use them anyhow, i will FOREVER hold you to this hypocrisy. :s26:

Alright, I admit I was very bold. But come on, you can't blame me that much. You can ask anyone in mp if the sp sucked. And you will get "yes" more then "no".

And doors ARE needed. I like them, and so do a lot of other people. And having doors in INF would be good. And you can make it so doors could be excluded in INF or CTF or anything else for that matter.

And as for my grammer and spelling, I was pissed/tired/frantic to type it. So stfu.

Unreal Tournament's Assault mode, when the attacking team completes its objective the game switches to a 'cutscene' type mode and shows a short in game animation w/ something blowing up  :s10:

Of course this adds nothing to gameplay.. its just sorta cool, but its not worth the extra work either.

You guys should really give Raven a break... what other company releases an SDK a couple days after the game is released? None that I know of. And I surely don't see any other companys that have employees that spend their time answering our petty questions...

Ok, so I'm not heroic, but I'll give some things a shot.
Some things - I'm not about to try coding in a totally new single-player-like AI system or anything. I can take care of your basic doors, better func_breakable's etc. Hopefully some other coders will help out and donate too (since the Man Down source will always be avaiable).

Anyways... question for you mappers :
How do you want rotating doors?
Using an origin brush (Quake2 and Urban Terror style) or using vectors (like Star Trek : Elite Force)?

I've some door code for an older Q3:A test mod of mine that actually converts origin brush doors to vector ones anyway, if people want to use both. Rigged it up so I could play it on Urban Terror's excellent maps :)

right on jusko! you really are a hero, whatever type door you find easier/better to do it will work. :s24:

ideally we would want to keep these new features open source so that mappers can have them to use in any mod that wants to add them -- and open source so that others are encouraged to add their code. everyone can only benefit if we all share... right now there is a tightwad syndrome, i can hear their little assholes unpuckering as i type this :s10:
