u should use TGA instead of DDS, should solve the uncompressed... error

some IWIs might not properly convert to TGA using Tom_BMX's XmodelUtils, but you can open DDS in Paint.NET and save as TGA.

I have photoshop so thats not a problem with tga... my problem really is that I dont know what settings in assman to use. You wouldnt happen to know of any tuts floating around that discuss converting? Cause I can only assume that some parts would need blend and others wouldnt?

if there's an alpha layer / transparency information in your texture, you need to set the blendFunc to blend in Asset Manager

for model materials (model phong), make sure you set it to no tile
