hi
how do i use subtitles that i wrote by my onw. i checked the source files of city. but i dont get it.

help plz

in ur soundaliases.csv under the section of subtitle you will have to put "&MAPNAME_LOCALIZEDSTRINGNAME"

and then in your english/localizedstring/ folder you will create a new file with the extension of .str. this is where u put ur subtitle info.

lol, I believe that was sarcasm. He uses voice_source not voidsource. Notice the underscore? :D

Perhaps try looking into a stock file. I never used subtitles so I wouldn't know. You can copy and paste a stock script and just rename the stuff that need changing to yours.

And I think that getent is a trigger. So I believe you still need to use trig waittill("trigger"); (it's been a while since I mapped, only been several months!)

So,

Code:

voice_source = getEnt( "something", "targetname" );
voice_source waittill("trigger"); //need the waittill
voice_source playsound("Bla1");



Try it, it might work.


Can't emphasize phrases or words in the code box. -_-

No, in Pablo's example, voice_source is... well, the source of the voice :) (the NPC or character that is talking). So, there's no need for a waittill called on voice_source.

Exactly, we're using waittill, when sb must go to the trigger, then the dialogue or any sound is playing.

I gave u a example of voice source (no, I'm not talking about u voidsource xD), just it, nothing else.

Example:

play_stupid_dialogue()
{
voice_source = getEnt( "something", "targetname" );
//or if sb must go to the trigger voice_source waittill("trigger");
voice_source playsound("Bla1");
}

And It's Pablo not "pable" -________-
