Hey, i was just wondering how you can get those planks that you find normally in rooftops going from girder to girder. Is it a model or can i not just find the texture.

Just make a brush the size you require to fit across from girder to girder if you mean a sort of roof joist it would be about 8" high by about 4" thick so in grid one 8X4 at whatever length you want.

Make that using common texture caulk, texture only the sides seen using something like that wood in Normandy floors textures.

To make it look as though the grain of the wood runs the length select one side, (holding Ctrl + shift) and click on the side of the brush, then to align the texture if is not already, hold down Ctrl +Alt and hold down right mouse button and drag the texture to align it along the grain (length)
Repeat with other sides. You can then copy that joist (beam) and place them at regular intervals across your building.
Also, why not save your nice new beam as a prefab to use later. (saves a boat load of time when you come to make another map)[rocking]

i think i understand what you are saying, but i'm just talking 1 plank, not a beam. Is there a certain texture or model?

There are two textures in the normandy/ceiling texture folder for those things..

If that's not what you mean, you can always make your own planks ofcourse.

Okay like DoA said.. to have planks you need to make them out of brushes and texture them with a wooden texture.. make a brush that i about60 units long... 20 units wide.. and 1 unit in height... of course as DoA has said make it more in height to get beams... but 1 unit is a good height for a plank..
