hi

is there a max amount of fx you can use in your map?
im trying to make a map where most of the buildings can be destroyed along with a nice fx etc.
so i want to know before the map is done.

i dont think the fx's could be a problem but the no. of things being exploded will be. script brush models have a limit.

within every fx are smaller elements that are the actual limiters, you are allowed up to 2048 of these to exist at any one time.
any time that this number is surpassed the number wont play.
this means that the total fx playable at once depends on the elements that play, it could be 4 explosions with 500 elements or 100 fires with 2 elements in each.
in the editor the amount of elements that play is visible in the bottom next to the amount of "bytes when compiled" and "effects"

hope this is understandable and helps

note that if the full amount of entities plays at once then it can get laggy.
