Hi,
i made a map about 6 months ago, but never released it because of a few problems. Long story short, ive come back to it and its all finished (got minimap, custom textures, fire/smoke fx, and announcer to work) except for the voiceovers.

I followed the tutorial for getting the voiceover announcer to work, but i can't for the life of me get the ingame voices to work, like the "Follow me" etc.

Can anyone tell me simply, what i need to put in the zone file and any other files i might have to edit?

(since comming back to it, i have updated the mod tools and the game to the most recent version)

I've done a search but can't find anything specifically for voiceovers, although i see many people are frustrated with the sound files in general.

Thanks!

The MP voiceovers such as "follow me" were never included in the game. Modders such as myself put them back in to our mods by borrowing the voice files from COD2, and supplimenting them with ones community members extracted from the WaW game files.

Really? wow, guess it's been so long since i played the game that i didn't notice they were never there.

Thats pretty half-assed to not put them in.

Well thanks for getting that sorted for me so quickly, easiest problem you've had to solve i guess!

just a loadscreen and i'm done. thanks again

hmm, I've got essential custom textures in the map, so the map has to be run from inside the mods\mp_usermaps

I read somewhere that the compass\minimap on the teams page won't work on modded servers.

I've been trying to get the loadscreen to work without any luck.
Is it even possible to the loadscreen to work on a modded server?

(this loadscreen and the mini map on the teams page are the only thing holding my map back)

If its any help i get this when compiling the fastfile:
ERROR: Could not open 'images/compass_map_mp_mymap'
failed loading 'images/compass_map_mp_mymap' of type 'rawfile' found in source file '../zone_source/mp_mymap.csv'
ERROR: Could not open 'images/loadscreen_mp_mymap'
failed loading 'images/loadscreen_mp_mymap' of type 'rawfile' found in source file '../zone_source/mp_mymap.csv'

and also these in green:
WARNING: bad type 'victorybackdrop'.
WARNING: bad type 'defeatbackdrop'.
WARNING: bad type 'levelbriefing'.

I'm not sure why it throws up the minimap error, because it works ingame apart from on the teams page

I know i'm being impatient for bumping this, but it boils down to a yes/no answer and somebody is bound to know.

Do loadscreens for maps work on modded servers?

unless you actually called your map, mp_mymap then i would change all refs of mymap to your own maps name.

You weren't impatient. Most people can't stand 3 hours without bumping it.

No, i just changed it to mymap when i typed it here. Its just strange it says "could not load" as opposed to "could not find", the files are all there and the references are correct and ive changed them so they aren't read only, but it changes it back to read only anyway. Could be a windows 7 thing... in any case i've pretty much given up and i'll see about just not having a loadscreen. Its not essential.

For radient to work so well, they really could have spent a little more time on the rest of the modtools.

anyway, thanks. Modsonline is still no.1 for COD mapping.

P.S. still interested if anyone happens to have had the same issue.
