Same here from Holland.

Critical note:
People kill people, with guns. So ban 'em, there's no use whatsoever. It's always just waiting for the next drama, always with the same rhetorical response from the NRA and their hypocritical Rep. friends.
We have games to shoot each other. I'm sorry, but I feel the US is pretty much responsible for such tragedies.

I agree with that but does'nt the USA have strong gun laws? How is it that school kids can get hold of lethal weapons and can take them into schools?

As much as i agree with banning fire arms or at least having the same laws on guns as we have here in the U.K i think that the majority of people in america would not feel the same way. Plus ironically isnt an american state, (i forget the name) where its actually legal to carry a gun ment to be the safest place in america? (dont quote me on that, but i'm pretty sure i saw it on t.v)

I think that the U.K and USA should stop putting all their efforts into foriegn issues and should focus on things closer to home. Hopefully in the future the only guns that can be used will be for computer games.

madcrow reporting in...

I to... and on behalf of fellow Australian's send condollances to the victims family and friends... this is always a tragedy when things like this happen...

I have to say that it's not only america where shootings happen.. i grew up in a place called bankstown in sydney where i believe can be worst then the worst getto you could think of... during my 6 years in high school we had 13 shootings... you never here about such things in the news.. especially overseas seeing in this area it is a common thing.. you ask how these kids can get their hands on these weapons.. well in bankstown you could pretty much get a gun delivered to your door easier than getting a pizza delivered.. you can make all the laws you want.. doesnt matter.. if someone wants something you can always get it...

I agree that guns and shootings should be left to wargames such as cod... just think what the world would be like if we instead of shipping 1000s of soldiers to another country facing bullets.. and dying.. we send them down to a internet cafe and get online and face each other that way...

Yes, there are some good gun laws in place in the USA. I am left to blame the parents.. who would have been able to get guns and leave them in a place where their children can get to them.

Without going into a page long rant here.... I see alot of parents here in the USA who should not be parents.

Is it me or are school shootings getting more common, also what is the current age in which you can buy a replica/real firearm in America?

In England (and this is only from what ive read) the law states that it is Illegal to own a weapon/ammunition. Although your allowed to buy the equipment to make ammo, its illegal to use it?!

The only guns we're allowed over here are airsoft ones (toy: under 0.7 joules, higher: its an 'AirGUN') or in some cases real ones but only in gun clubs.

Unfortunaly Madcrow, i think if wars were settled on computer games one country would accuse the other of cheating at CTC (capture the continent) or complian of lag, plus they would have to add hundreds of Charactor/models to Call of Duty to suit all the countries who are currently at war or 'unstable'. Good idea though, but personally i think that a Terminator style robot army is the way forward, or how about we all just live in peace?..

18 years of age and you can purchase a gun. However, you are placed on a waiting list while you have a background check to make sure you're not a criminal.

It's part of our constitution.. "the right to bare arms" so we can fight you guys off. lol. I believe the age is 18 because that is the age at which you can be drafted into the army.

lol bring it on j/k , well i was using the good ol' (CRAP!) L85A1 when i was 14 (in the cadets), i suppose from being taught how to use weapons propperly and seeing what they can do i have a great respect for the law, thats why although i only have som replica airsoft guns i always keep them locked away and only fire them at targets on my property. I cant imagine guns getting banned totally, but maybe if we were all tought about them from an earlier age then we would have a greater understanding and knowledge in how not to use them.

I think its sad how some people blame comptuer games for 'inspiring them' to kill or commit a crime, computer games arnt real and never will be hence the name 'game'. People who blame computer games are just looking for an easy way out or an excuse for what they've done.

Has anyone managed to find out about that state i mentioned earlier?

(sorry for my random ranting but it has got a compuet game topic in there somewhere, i swear, honestly!)

Well that I know of tech.. the age would be the same as drinking.. 21years old... here in Australia it is 18.. but your parents could buy them for ya.. you must hold a current friearms licence aswell... when i turned 18 i got into security and became a bodyguard wher i had to hold my firearms licence... I myself carried 2 BROWNING Hi-Power Single-Action Pistol 125th, and at times used a SR-60 308 , which in basic terms is a sniper rifle.. our firearms must be in a safe and if the licencing department doesnt think your security is good you must leave them with your local police station.. i know here ya can hold a special firearms licence when you are younger than 18.. due to shooting competions...

Anyhoos added my two cent...

Its a bit bad that the age of owning a gun is near or the same as the drinking age in some countries. (and they wonder why they have drunken shootings?!)

hmm.. maybe there should be a 'General' forum, or an 'Anything to do with anything' one, as we seemed to have strayed off the ol' gaming topic.

peace out, tech
