This tutorial will teach you how to have a sound play when a player walks into stuff. This requires absolutely no scripting :).

Create a trigger_multiple and place it where you want the bump sound play. An example would be placing it in front or around a model.

Give it these KVPs:

"targetname" "audio_bump_trigger"
"script_sound" "soundaliashere"
"spawnflags" "7"


List of Bump Sounds:

cage_rattle
perks_rattle
pots_rattle
shelf_rattle
filecabinate_rattle
desk_rattle
bump_spooky
stretcher_rattle
cupboard_rattle


That's all you have to do!

Nice, you would need to define those sounds in your sound alias and load the _amb.gsc in order to get it to work (which I'm sure most people have setup by default anyway) but bearing that in mind you can have this in all kinds of maps.
