Yes, it is possible. I hope you are an experienced modder... First you need the alpha channel and stuff for the texture. In order for the game to recognize the transparency, you need to rename the skin from ex:

metal@unkown to metal_masked@unkown.

Now you must find the xmodel of the model you need to change. It is located in

Call of Duty/main/pak0.pk3.

Open it with WinRar or any other program that may open .zip files. Now go to the xmodels folder inside pak0.pk3. For this example I will use the armoir xmodel. Copy and paste the xmodel onto your desktop or somewhere you can find it easily. Open it up with wordpad. On wordpad you will find a bunch of weird looking letters and symbols. Hit CTRL+F or Edit->Find and search for the wood@ or metal@ part. For this example it will be

wood@armoir

Rename it to

wood_masked@armoir

The _masked part makes the game recognize that it actually is transparent. Save it. Now make a new folder. Change the name of the skin to the same name you did in the xmodel file.

Ex:

wood_masked@armoir

Make the folder structure like so:

xmodel--- armoir
skins--- wood_masked@armior

Now zip it into a .pk3, place it into the main folder, and test it out! Make sure you have the alpha channel in the dds or the tga file.

I hope it helps! [rocking]

Thanks man. I had everything right except the masked part. I'll try it when i get my game setup again. Just had to reformat. >_<

Any idea if it works for player models as well?
