Is it possible to create your own weapon, like change the M4 into a new weapon? if yes, how?

as far as i know you can make models with maya which comes with cod4 modtools

Maya is a expansive, commercial 3d modelling tool which does NOT come with the modtools. only the needed export plugins for maya are included. you have to have a copy of maya 7, 8 or 8.5 in order to use the plugins. the free PLE version of maya does NOT work, 'cause it lacks the plugin support. Importing new weapon models
