I have a computer room in my map and i would like computer sounds to be present.
I need to know what value to insert in the soundscape entity. Where are the sounds located? I found a couple of cache files but nothing much is in them.

Has anyone successfully inserted sound into their map? Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'm not completely done with this yet, but I do not think your answer will be found with the env_soundscape entity - that entity leaves the sound running ever after you exit the sound radius, which is not good for your computer room.

Keep trying things and keep us posted as well.

Forgot that's a HL2: DM question you're asking as well, I haven't looked into mp yet, so.

Actually nevermind, it should be the same for HL2 mp as any other...and I think it will be the env_soundscape I just haven't figured out entirely how to stop the sound.

When you use a soundscape it makes a like sphere and when the player walks into that sphere, it starts the sound. The problem is the sound keeps going ever after they exit the area and you can only have one soundscape used at a time.o

Using the Input/Output you can enable/disable or even remove the soundscape, however I haven't tested that nor do I suspect that will fade the sound out as you move away...if I learn anything new I'll keep you posted.

Are you doing sp mode?
What's it like, any good?

I would love to make my own sp game but i don't know how difficult it would be. Maybe i will give it a try when i have got to grips with lighting, sounds and other entities.

As for the sound, still scratching my head on that one.

LOL!

OK, I just figured out how to do it, I might write a tutorial for it because it's just a slight oversight that makes it kinda mysterious.

I want ya to be able to go on and finish your map tho, so ill just say go check out blah blah...

go check out ambient_generic

ill have a small tut on it and its values later today, gl!
