lo all

I really need some help please.
For the past two days I have been messing around trying to put the finishing touches to my map. However after a lot of reading, posting and making changes then reading some more I'm still at square one.
My map exceeds the maximum amount of vertices and no matter what I try, I don't seam to be able to cut back on them.
Here is some info on my map followed with what I have tried to remidy the problem.
My map is based in a blown up paint factory over four floors and consists of a lot of pipes and water type tanks. All the pipework and such has all been hand made.
What I have tried.
1. made all pipes less dense
2. changes all pipe and tank light textures to natural
3. made sure all terrain patches are welded together and any areas of concrete floor terrain which needed a decal over I have welded all the verts and such to the concrete terrain patch.
4. made sure everything that is not part of the main building structure is made detail.
4. I have broke down a lot of the detail into prefabs.

I don't know what to try next can anyone please help I have put a lot of time and effort into this map and was/am determined to actually produce a complete map.
thanks

How many pipes and tanks are we talking about?
And are they all made out of patch cylinders?

I remember back in CoD I made a prison map, and I made all the bars in each cell out of cylinders.. The compiler did not like that, and there weren't THAT many I thought..

lol I have used patch cylinders for all the pipe, tanks, cables and anything else thats long and round including the hand rails and spindles . I guess thats bad then. There is a fair bit of pipework but not really much more than I have seen in other maps. One floor is empty at the moment so I'm in the process of changing my map and loosing that floor. Not sure how to get around the pipes though.

The pipes alone won't be the problem probably. Stuff like rails can be made out of sqaure brushes easily. No one will see the difference
