So i'm trying to make a minigun in multiplayer and have decided to mod the saw_bipod_stand_mp weapon file to do so. I have recorded the minigun fire loop sequence and cut it out and saved it as .wav and recorded the minigun cooldown sequence and saved it as .wav. I deleted the entries in firesound, and firesoundplayer in the SAW weapon file, and moved them to loopfiresound, loopfiresoundplayer, and moved the firesoundplayer to stopfiresound and stopfiresoundplayer so it looks like this:

Soundalias says that weap_m249saw_turret_fire_plr is located at weapons/m249/weap_m249_slst_1.wav and weap_m249saw_turret_fire is located at weapons/m249/weap_m249_mono5.wav, so in my .iwd i have build the necessary folders so that my custom sounds are where the originals are.

I'm not sure what i have to enter in my .csv, all i have is:

sound,weaponmod,,all_mp


Am i missing something, because my gun is just firing the original saw firing sound but really fast because its on loop.

I don't know anything when it's in regard to custom weapons. Perhaps the sound files were supposed to be just firesound and firesoundplayer, instead of loopfiresound and loopfiresoundplayer that you changed them to? If it's looping really fast, that's my first guess.

Display your entire soundalias. The information you provided isn't enough to help, I don't think. At least not for me.

The thing is, i dont know a thing about soundalias, i was just searching around and found out that the common.csv file shows where all the sounds are located, so i can replace them. But the only things i have in my mods .csv file are the two things posted in the first post. I dont know what entry i need for the replacement to take effect, or w/e. Is there any tutorial on replacing sounds anywhere?
