The guys who went to the IW studio in June all got picked to beta it:
Jdwagg, Tally, Joker, RudeDog, Whiskey, etc...

We have a contact at IW to keep in contact with to submit feedback.
I don't know about the other guys, but I've been talking to the contact ever since I got the tools.

Made some suggestions like:
Whenever you compile your map and reflections, the compiler program sets your r_fullscreen to 0 since reflections can't be compiled in full screen. Gets tedious always having to switch the dvar back and doing vid_restart when testing map, so I asked him to add in a fix for that. He added it in.

And I was having troubles adding models in with collisions, so I asked him to make a Wiki page and he made it right away:

That wordfile thing too, he added it in the next version of the tools right away.

Suggested more topics for Wikis as well like making custom videos and whatnot.

so how does the compiling work once you have the bsp, is it using IWD's or a FF compiler?
are there any finished maps working out there yet? lol

Yeah, there's a compiler, it's the root of the SDK.
Can launch the level editor, fx editor, asset manager, Wiki, compile maps, launch maps, etc...



After you compile a map to BSP, you have to compile the reflections (which give the maps its shinyness).

After which you have to make a Zone Source, which is basically a list that tells the FastFile builder to include assets used in script or whatever, into the maps FastFile. If the asset is added in the map (ie .a model) then it's included automatically.

After that, you build your FastFile and give that to friends to play.

I like it......very much so. I can't find a FF reader anywhere on the internet and then theres one that comes with another million things for mah fave game.

What I'm really curious about now is if it can READ FF files aswell as write them.

And if anyone is into the 3D art side, the plugins we have are for Maya 7.0.

I had already asked if they could update them for Maya 8 and they're working on plugins for Maya 8.x.
