With just a little bit more effort you could also make the fountain an actual working fountain. No point in halfway measures when you can with 10 more minutes of work take a lack lustre fountain and transform it into an actual working fountain.

well that's just it LPR I can't find a texture that looks realistic enough. if I could find something like func_falling_water then I could make one but I just don't know how. none of the textures look like a waterfall or a fountain. I've looked at tutorials but there was only one time anything waterfall was mentioned and that was in CoD1

ok, so next tutorial will include: all the buttons and toolbars and their functions, all the necessary tool textures, hopefully a fountain, (if I can figure it out) opening doors, triggers, and both a video and text version of the overall tutorial. anything else? I got plenty of time to do all of this. the last one only took me about 4 hours for doing part at my friends house, emailing it to my house, driving back home(30mins), building the actual map, finishing the text, putting it all together, and posting it on this site.

The thing is that you dont have to use a texture for the fountain effect because it is an effect. I didnt make it but got it from a learning demo .map, .d3dbsp that the premier mapper Pierrambo did for us and the community over at codutility.com. Though most of the files are in french it is very easy to make it work and the effect is awesome when complete.

I'm not slamming your tutorial in any shape or manner. I was just pointing out that there is more you can do with things that you provided in your tut. I have done several video tuts over at codutility.com so my hat is off to anyone who takes the time to try to help the community.

could you by chance give me a direct link to said Tutorial? i'm not too familiar with CODFILES.COM i've been there but not very often(oh and I listened to your water tutorial and that is what made me able to do any water effects in this TUT so thank

Ive downloaded the file and all but I don't know what to do now. I cant run anything besides the txt files because I need to register my photoshop and I only had it on a 30 day free trial and I can't register it. can I open it in another program and what files should I read first?

g'day all, I'm a member at TOG (The Older Gamers) and have been wanting to get into making maps for over a year now, but could never find anything that would help me get started, 94snipers tutorial was exactly what i have been looking for, it wasn't too complicated and easy to follow, from what i've read from your comments here there might have been more he could have said or done different, but all those you can find in other tutorials which i have been slowly reading, this tutorial is in my opinion, recommended for those learning and/or new to mapping :)
