I have a few cod2 maps that have 23000 brushes, still compile fine, Minas Tirith was 27999 because I was removing brushes until it ran, so i am convinced of that. Its not only brushes, its also the amount of verts in the terrain patches, so my terrain plus brushes are most likely in the 30000 range.

Hmm, quite strange...

You guys are using prefabs?

If that is true this would be so uber cool for me because I was never been able to make bigger maps than like 8000 brushes. Wow. Then I can make them 3 times as big. And if I make a map with lots of terrain and very less houses I can map the maps SOOOOOOOOOO big.

But I can't do it right now and I don't know why, help me, please.

Make sure your brushes are detail and not structural, also you can make some brushes weapons clip only or even non colliding if a player can see it but never get to it.

If all your brushes are structural, then it will be more laggy and slower to draw everything in frame. the only thing you want structural is the skybox and any walls used as part of a portal.
