Here I go again with more problems [cry]. I'm still working on this map I started as a project with MOHAA maps that I found at a web site called "R&R projects", textured them and added to my own map. Lately it takes over an hour to compile [confused] when it used to take around 10 to 20 minutes before I textured and modified the map.
Below is the text log from compile before I decided to quit and ask for assistance here.

Does anyone know what is going on with this map? [banghead]. When it does finish and I run the map, it looks great to me with the exception of my player_start that have the rainbow effect coloring which The_Caretaker had explained to me that I need to make a Grid file to correct. Any and all help would be appreciated [wave][thumbs_up]

Hmm change the lighting settings. Turn lighting to 'fast'. that might sort it.

for testing yes, but what about his final version... Seems like putting a bandaide on a bullet wound...

Believe it or not, it's set on "fast" [eek] when I compile due to the fact that it's still my work in process. I still have long ways to go before it's anywhere near completion [cry] . As far as the compile settings go, I followed a tutorial by Rasta found here on this site. I tried both "testing & final" setting with pretty similar results. Could it be that I got too much stuff on my map that's causing this slow down? I know for a fact that my system is plenty fast enough to do any thing audio/video or gaming, it was built specifically for that purpose.

It might be the textures you have chosen. One of my maps wouldn't even finished when I used a detailed tile texture, but when I changed it to dirt, it was fine.. Most of my maps take several hours to compile. I think it's normal.

Do you have a checkmark in the box beside "Compile - Vis (multiplayer only)?

If you do then take it out til the final compile.

No, that is not checked since my map is strictly single player. This map is no small thing. One part contains more than 4 prefab buildings and taken me 2 weeks just to texture everything. The other has basically 2 main buildings, 2 to 3 stories high and my own customizations to the original. All in all, it's going to be a good size map and I still have to figure out how I'm going to script this thing, make some sort of story line and objectives set in place. Once I'm done it should be a decent one to play. My tester(AKA, my wife), is getting impatient [sleeping] but, I want to get it right the first time[thumbs_up]. Thanks for the info though [wave]
