My EXACT thoughts, Carver.
EDIT: Well, you edited your post, and kindof changed what I thought you meant. I wasn't referring to an actual record she might have, I was referring to how this is going to affect her the rest of her life. |
Thats what I was getting at. Quote | Sure it will be sealled at 18 but the damage will have been done, under the right circumstances it can be unsealed. |

Quote (LightningBoy @ Aug. 03 2005, 3:57 pm) | So, you guys think it's OK to let someone off for ATTEMPTED MURDER, just because she's 11? You do smash someone in the head with a two pound rock unless you want to do real damage. |
LB, she's 11 years old, and she doesn't have the same mindset that an adult would have about death. She acted irrationally and didn't think of the consequences...just like an 11 year old would do. If she were an adult, I'd say slam her behind bars. But in this case, it was blown way out of proportion in my opinion. She just needs to learn exactly what it was she COULD have done. She also needs a serious spanking with a tree-limb, one she'll never forget. |

I remember at 11, murder was an abstract notion. My brother got hurt by a rock at him when he was 10. I mean, at that age... It's kinda normal to pitch stuff. |

Quote (Dr. Chaotica @ Aug. 03 2005, 1:20 pm) | This is just...retarded. A felony. An eleven-year-old girl is charged with a felony for something kids do all the time.
A swift beating on the behind that the little girl will remember would have done the trick, girl's parents pay for the boy's hospital bill, and make the girl realise what she did, and appologise for it, and ground her for a month or two.
No, let's haul her ass to court for it instead, charge her with "assault with a deadly weapon", put her in a juvinile hall for 5 days, and make her spend a month under house arrest.
Do you honestly think the girl is going to learn anything GOOD from being around other kids in a juvinile hall?
But then, I guess alot of it has to do with how she's been raised. |
Chaotica...kids throwing rocks at you isn't normal... |
