The 'America pwns' is not an insult by itself. It is a statement which I have created myself. It might be understood as an insult, and if done so, I can only say that I'm sorry.

The statement itself, roughly translated, comes from a favored saying of a certain guru in the flight sim field "Me right, you wrong, always !". And that is the way the phrase was said, not a summary of it.

Why I have labelled it as 'America pwns' -statement. Well, I happen to think that some of the american people do suffer from a limited "Us and Them" view. Otherwise I doubt the Iraq war had even started. But, it's just my view. It bases on the expressions I've gotten while visiting there both in person and via the Net. Perhaps I've just been unlucky and happened to meet the wrong individuals :D

America's a big place, with an extremely diverse population.  I would have to suggest the above statement is accurate.  The majority of people "here" are actually from "there" and consider "them" more as "us" than the "us" people are... did that make sense?

I'm not interested in pursuing a "this country is better than that country" (troll bait) discussion, rather I'll just assume you're not suggesting America has some kind of monopoly on idiotic people.

In my experience, stupidity knows no borders, age limit, race, creed or gender; there are plenty of morons wherever you go. Personally, I usually don't go out of my way to point them out since they tend to do a fairly decent enough job of that on their own.

BTW, you might also want to bear in mind we wouldn't be here having this discussion were it not for the imagination of at least one particular American.  :;):

Of course he's not saying americans are all dumb, just all the ones he's met :p
Hey I know smart Americans, just more people know the dumb ones as they're the ones that stand out like you said ^.^ I think Florida stands out more than anywhere else though due a certain George 'Looks like a monkey' Bush becoming president  :s2:

If someone wants to join my server and chat, I suggest they join spectator mode. Better still, I recommend they investigate programs such as mIRC, AIM or MSN chat and make room for people who want to play.

Amen.

you will find whiners in every game, in every gametype, in every aspect of life...

Just take things lightly... when I played Quake3, I used to be the typical spammer/camper. Most people hate campers, but why? Is there a rule that says "you shall NEVER STOP moving when playing a FPS"?

If you are accused of doing something in a game, and you consider your action legal (as oposed to cheating via external programs, i.e. bots!), just laugh and be cool: you'll be sooo much over them!!!

p$ this is an "EASY to POST, difficult to FULFILL" advice, beware! :D

It is a general rule in the JK2 and JA community that you do not attack someone who has his/her sabre down.

1. It is uncool: the person can easily be hit so where's the satisfaction for you in killing an unarmed person.

2. It creates a unique atmosphere where opponents show respect for one another......before they bash each other into oblivion :P

Except people abuse rules such as "saber down = no kill"...if you're low on health and someone is coming for you, just drop your saber, wait until they leave and then go finding health...a rule such as saber down = no kill can cause arguments because of people twisting the rule to suite them.

FPS means first person shooter, that implies you shoot people, nowhere in FPS is it implied "saber down = no kill" or "camping is good/bad" or "chat fragging is bad". When it comes to the truth of the game, chat fragging is a grey area, camping depends on the game type and what you're doing, if you camp in a clearly advantageous spot, expect ppl to get peaved in CTF, finally saber down means no kill is just as hard to monitor as chat fragging.
