ok, forgive me if this has been asked before.

I want to spawn an npc in a map but am unable. The npc is a skin that was made by Toonloon.

Is there some sort of script that needs to be included in the file or is there something else that I am missing? I am typing the following in the console: npc spawn name

Was the NPC in question a holomatch only skin? Or does it say anywhere with the skin that it specifically has SP support? If you're not sure, open up the skin .pk3 file in winzip (or a pak editor) and look for a file called NPCs.cfg. It will be in a directory called ext_data. If it's not there, then it means the skin won't spawn as an NPC as it doesn't have NPC suport. Even if it does, there's still reasons why it might not work, but to try and work out why I'd need the .pk3s name, as well as the name of any other skin .pk3s with NPC support.

Also make sure that (Duh!) you're spelling the NPC name correctly.

No, I don't have the game, only the demo. I was going to buy it last year but couldn't find it anymore.

That may be the problem. I noticed that with the demo, I couldn't add any PK3's or modify pak0.pk3 without causing an error message upon startup.

Hahah... I was right...in a way. Still, there was no singleplayer demo, was there?  Oh wait, yeah there was, nevermind.

Either way, it probably just won't work w/ the demo no matter what you do.  Buy the game.  It's probably like $9.99 at a store near you.

Erm...I think you're getting confused. I was talking about The Fallen, which was a reply to an off-topic post in the thread. Besides, it isn't me who has the problem, I was trying to fix it.   :p :)
